Africa-Press – Kenya. The late former Rombo MCA Leng’ete Kamete will be buried in his home in Loitokitok on Tuesday next week. The late MCA died on Monday while undergoing treatment, the family revealed and said the burial will take place in Loitokitok on Tuesday.

Governor Joseph Lenku and the county assembly fraternity on Friday condoled the family of the late Kamete. “I join the people of Rombo Ward, Kajiado South, in mourning the untimely demise of their former MCA, Kamete, after a long illness,” said Lenku.

The governor described Kamete as a principled and distinguished leader in Rombo, and indeed, Kajiado South, throughout his long political career which spanned more than two decades as a councillor and later an MCA in 2013 and 2017.

“He diligently served as one of The National Alliance (TNA) key leaders in the first county assembly after devolution. He was a gracious man whose few words were loaded with wisdom,” said Lenku.

Lenku went on: “In fact, we worked very hard together in my first bid for the governorship in 2017 despite his failing health”. The governor said Kamete was always available for consultation and, indeed, he can testify that he had the people of Rombo at heart.

“This morning, I stand with the family, friends and the people of Rombo, as we face together, the devastation that comes with losing the former MCA,” said Lenku.

Kajiado County assembly speaker Justus Ngossur described the late former MCA as “a cordial and disciplined” leader who had high regard for fellow leaders in the assembly. Ngossur served with Kamete as MCAs from 2013 – 2023.
