Africa-Press – Kenya. Saudi Arabia will host Round 2 of the 2024 Formula One World Championship on Saturday in Jeddah.

The race will have 50 laps on the 6.174-kilometer (3.83-mile) Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton recorded the lap record on the Circuit in 2021 in 1 minute 30.734 seconds.

Reigning champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing, won the first GP of the season in Bahrain on March 2 to lead the driver standings with 26 points.

Teammate Sergio Perez sit in second with 18 points and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz are third with 15 points.

Red Bull top the constructor standings with 44 points, while Ferrari are behind with 27 points and Mercedes are third with 16 points.

2. Sergio Perez (Mexico): 18

3. Carlos Sainz (Spain): 15

4. Charles Leclerc (Monaco): 12

5. George Russell (Great Britain): 10
