Gachagua accuses media of ignoring state's achievements

Africa-Press – Kenya. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused the media of what he said was failure to report on the Kenya Kwanza government’s achievements since they took power.

The DP who was speaking during a church service in Isiolo said the media should also include the achievements on the reports and not give a ‘one-sided story.’

” I saw our friends (the media) had written about the government’s broken promises, I gave them a full list (governments achievements) but they did not write about it. That is a one-sided story,” he said.

“Do not give a one-sided story, give a story of what you consider broken promises, give the story of the kept promises and let the people of Kenya judge whether, in 8 months, substantial progress has been made.”

President William Ruto also defended his administration saying they have made progress in the few months they have been in the office. “My deputy Gachagua is saying the truth. They are writing all these bad things about us because their candidate lost,” the President said.

“We forgive them, but they should stop being angry. The election is over. Your candidate might win in the future, maybe in 2037. Stop the chaos. We want to unite the people. And I give you my commitment: We will work together.”
