Africa-Press – Kenya. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has urged Kenyans living in Diaspora to follow in the footsteps of those living in Botswana. The DP said Kenyans in the Southern African country are working towards safeguarding their welfare while away from home.
“I got to understand what the Kenya Botswana Diaspora Association is about, as they are doing a wonderful job for its membership,” he said.
He spoke when he visited the High Commission in Gaborone, Botswana on Sunday. Gachagua noted that Kenyan Ambassador to Botswana Mohamed Shidiye has done a great job of uniting Kenyans living in the country.
“With my Spouse Dorcas and PS for Diaspora Affairs Roseline Njogu, we expressed our gratitude to Ambassador Shidiye and his team for making our visit easy, seamless and comfortable,” Gachagua said.
He also had a one-on-one session with Kenyans under the leadership of Ambassador Shidiye and understood their concerns. “One of the issues I picked was double taxation in investment. Among other issues, I will take this to the Cabinet for further deliberations and a decision,” The DP said.
