“Otieno and Onyiso are some of the best players the country has produced. Their presence in Kisii will inspire young talents,” noted Arika. He said holiday tournaments are key in identifying and exposing players.
“Sports is currently one of the highest-paying careers. We must make deliberate efforts to nurture talent from a young age. I want to see players from this tournament playing for Shabana and even the national team. Next year, this tournament will be even bigger and better,” said Arika.
The top four teams will receive cash and other awards. The 10 participating teams received playing kits and balls from the sponsor.
