Africa-PressKenya. Ayub Kinyanjui, the father of the 7-year-old who was caught driving a Prado Tx on Saturday, June 12, gave more details regarding the incident.

Kinyanjui claimed that he had never taught the boy how to drive and attributed the son’s driving skills to video games- which he stated that his son played on numerous occasions.

“The boy loves playing Grand Theft Auto (GTA) and Need For Speed (NFS) on the screen. He spends most of his free time playing the games, and he loves winning,” Ayub told K24.

He also complained of constant trolls online whereby a section of Kenyans faulted him for allowing his son to drive the vehicle.

Kinyanjui defended his son’s actions stating that he did not see any fault in him driving the car.

“I think what he did is not any different from what others do. We usually see children riding bikes that belong to their parents,” he acknowledged.

Further, he noted that he would nurture his son’s talent more, adding that his son could be the youngest racer in the country if his talent is nurtured well.

”I’ll start exposing him to safari rally experience because I’m sure he can make a good driver if well trained by experts,” he stated.

Kinyanjui, while sharing the moments that led to the video recording, claimed that he had left his son at a carwash in Delview Annex, Murang’a County in order to go to a nearby supermarket.

Upon returning, he claimed to have found his son driving the Prado while being filmed by observers.

The news comes as the father had been arrested and fined Ksh20,000 for allowing his son to drive unsupervised.

Principal Magistrate Margaret Kinyanjui added that Kinyanjui risked a 3-year jail term if he failed to pay the fine.
