Africa-Press – Kenya. Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) has picked a strong 14-member squad to represent the country at the Inaugural Women Africa 3×3 Championship scheduled for December 1-4 in Cairo, Egypt.
KBF secretary general, Ambrose Kisoi said they selected top players from the top premier league clubs to participate in the event that has attracted 12 countries.
The squad is expected to kick off non-residential training sessions on Monday at Nyayo Stadium for the next two weeks.
“The team will train under the supervision of coaches, Eunice Ouma (Eagle wings), Zaddock Ogwala and Samba Mjomba (Equity Bank Hawks), and Jeff Mwaniki (Kenya sports Academy),” said Kisoi.
He said they will train three times a week thus Monday, Wednesday and Friday, starting next week.
The selected squad includes—George Darill (Strathmore University), Shavanga Larry and Ariel Ortega (USIU), Faheem Juma (Equity Bank), John Wijass (Kenya Ports Authority), Eugene Adera (KPA), James Mwangi (Equity Bank).
