Kenyans in annual rush to travel upcountry for Christmas

Africa-Press – Kenya. With a few days left to Christmas, Kenyans living in major towns have started traveling upcountry.

A spot check by the Star in various bus and matatu stations in Nairobi, showed hundreds stranded as others queue to book for their travels.

Fares in most travel companies have shot by between Sh200-Sh500 from the usual charges.

The number of travelers is, however, not much as compared to the previous years.

While this may be attributed to the high cost of fuel, the operators are seeking to make a quick buck from the increased number of travelers.
