Africa-Press – Kenya. Kenyans have raised several issues they want President William Ruto to address next year. This is according to a report released on December 31 by Infotrak Research.

The survey conducted shows that 52 per cent of Kenyans want the President to tackle the high cost of living. This, they said, should be prioritised. Those who want the challenge of unemployment dealt with were 42 per cent.

Twenty two per cent of Kenyans want infrastructure to be sorted while 15 per cent want the issues of corruption addressed. Infotrak found out that 16 per cent of the interviewed persons want insecurity dealt with.

Those who are seeking access to affordable quality services included healthcare (30 per cent), education (24 per cent) and clean water (21 per cent). Infotrak conducted the survey between December 21 and December 22 through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews.

Other issues include poverty reduction (12 per cent), Agriculture (11 per cent), cost of doing business (10 per cent), empowerment of women and youth (nine per cent) and equal distribution of resources (four per cent).

Three per cent want Ruto to address bad politics, electrification, ethnicity and tribalism respectively. The report shows that in other areas of concern, 12 per cent of Kenyans are hopeful the challenges will be tackled.

The survey sample was n=840 to represent the universe of adult Kenyans who were 18 years and above at the time of the survey, Infotrak said. The sampling frame used was guided by the 2019 census, across all 47 counties.

“To ensure national representativeness, the distribution of the survey sample across the regions was proportionally allocated,” CEO Angela Ambitho said.

“The margin of error was +-3.4 per cent at 95 per cent degree of confidence.” There was a 94 per cent response rate.
