Miguna Miguna tells off Winnie Odinga over EALA bid

Africa-Press – Kenya. Lawyer Miguna Miguna has rubbished Winnie Odinga’s bid to represent Kenya at the East African Legislative Assembly.

Miguna claimed that the last born daughter of former Prime minister Raila Odinga is not qualified to hold an EALA position.

He added that just because he has an Odinga name, that is not qualification to hold public office.

Miguna told off the Odinga family saying that they have abused their privileges for many years and it is time they are stopped.

Winnie Odinga a.k.a. Winnie AGER is NoT qualified to be a member of EALA. Using the last name “ODINGA” as an ORNAMENT is NOT a qualification for public office. The ODINGA family has abused their privileges for 60 years and it is high time we STOPPED their abuse!

The young Odinga is one of the six people nominated by the ODM party to fill the two EALA slots.

The others include Business man Suleiman Shahbal, Mohamed Diriye, Timothy Bosire, Beatrice Askul, and Justus Kizito.

The six represent Mombasa, Wajir, Nairobi, Nyamira, Turkana and Kakamega counties.

While campaigning for the position on Friday, Winnie said that Kenya should work together and not against each other.

“I have travelled the region, I have studied it and I know it well. We lose when we compete against each other instead of working together,” she said.

“As the biggest economy in the region, it’s time for Kenya to roar and lead in bringing the EAC together. I believe I know how.”

Kenya has nine seats up for grabs at the East African Legislative Assembly.

Five of the nine will go the Kenya Kwanza coalition while four will go to Azimio.

From the four ODM is expected to have two seats while other affiliate parties; Jubilee and Wiper will each get a seat.
