Munizoee mapema - Gachagua tells off critics, says he won't stop saying the truth

Africa-Press – Kenya. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has told off his critics, maintaining that he will keep on telling the truth.

Gachagua defended his bare-knuckle comments on issues saying Kenyans need to know the truth all the time.

He was justifying his maiden speech at Moi International Sports Complex, Kasarani on September 13.

“Wale ambao mko na shida na mambo ya ukweli, mzoee naibu wenu wa rais mapema (Those who have an issue with the truth, get used to your Deputy President early enough),” he said while addressing Eldoret residents during a thanksgiving service on Sunday.

During his speech at Kasarani, Gachagua said former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government had abandoned the people who it was supposed to serve.

He said President William Ruto’s government was inheriting a poverty stricken country adding that they are working hard to get the country back on track.

“Watu wengine wakasema mimi ni mjeuri. Ati kulikuwa na wageni ati singezungumza bado ingeleta aibu kwa wageni. Hao wageni ndio wanapea si chakula hapa?” he asked.

This loosely translates to, “Some people said I was wrong to address our issues before visitors. Are those visitors the ones giving us food here?”

Gachagua told the leaders who served under Uhuru to adapt to the changes and adopt an honest way of expression.

He reiterated that the Ruto administration will not lie to Kenyans.

“We will tell Kenyans the truth. Did they want me to lie to them?”
