Africa-Press – Kenya. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen visited Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director Captain William Ruto at a Mombasa hospital on Saturday following a tragic road accident.

The accident, which occurred on Friday night, claimed the life of Captain Ruto’s daughter and left him and three of his children injured.

He added that doctors had reassured him about the MD and his children’s condition.

“The doctors assured me that the MD and his two children are out of danger and that they should be out of the hospital soon,” Murkomen said.

During the visit, the CS extended his condolences to the family.

Captain Ruto’s car was involved in an accident in Taita Taveta County on Friday evening while travelling to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, reportedly involving a stationary trailer.

According to Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen, the trailer had no signage.

Murkomen called on motorists to be cautious while on the road, especially during the festive season when travel increases.

He also called on all Kenyans travelling to exercise caution on the roads.
