Africa-Press – Kenya. There is a looming rebellion in the Ford Kenya party against party leader Moses Wetangula over State appointments. A section of members and party officials are now fingering him for allegedly failing to vouch for adequate state appointment for party members.
Disgruntled members of the outfit who spoke to the Star in confidence expressed their disappointment with the party leader saying he is not doing enough to reward them for rooting for the Kenya Kwanza government ahead of the August 9, polls.
The group said the Ford Kenya party deserved a considerable number of appointments given that it delivered enough votes in its bastions. “Hon Wetangula is not pushing anything for us and is currently disconnected from the party,” an official who didn’t want to be mentioned said.
At the same time, the group alleged that the slot allocated to Ford Kenya was not supposed to be given to Susan Nakhumicha who was appointed to the health docket.
The group said there are more senior party officials who fought hard for the outfit and, thus, deserved the appointment. The Star could, however, not verify whether the President had allocated the outfit a CS slot.
Efforts to get the party secretary general Chris Wamalwa to respond to these allegations were unfruitful. Our calls to the organising secretary Chris mandu and his deputy David Burare went unanswered.
The group now appeals to President William Ruto to remember them in his next appointment or they begin charting a different path for the next general election.
