Africa-Press – Kenya. Kenyans have been urged to attend the Nairobi International Trade Fair which begins today at Jamhuri grounds.
The event will resume after a two-year break occasioned by the Covid-19 outbreak.
This year’s theme is “Promoting Innovation and Technology in Agriculture and Trade.”
The Trade Fair opens its gates for exhibition on Monday until Sunday, October 2, 2022.
President William Ruto is expected to officially open the show on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 while Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja will open on Tuesday
Ag Inspector General of the National Police Service Noor Gabow has called on people to visit the NPS stand, where they will be ready to answer questions.
“Come and interact with your servants and get to know what it takes to secure you and your property. We shall be on call to take all your questions” he said.
Last week, the Agricultural Society of Kenya leadership team led by the Nairobi Branch Chair Joseph Mugo paid a courtesy call to Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.
Sakaja and his Deputy Njoroge Muchiri are the official Patrons of the Nairobi show.
The Governor called upon Nairobi residents to attend the show.
“It is great to see the Nairobi International Trade Fair back after two years due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, and more pleased for this to be happening in my first year of administration,” Sakaja said.
He stated that trade and agriculture play a critical role in Kenya’s economic blueprint, more so in Nairobi which sits at the centre of connecting and promoting two-way trade between Kenyans and other like-minded trading partners across the globe.
“It is about time that Nairobi reclaimed its position in the region as the preferred destination for our international trading partners,” Sakaja added.
