Africa-Press – Kenya. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has asked President William Ruto to allow him further his education once the workload in the office lessens. The DP said he has only one degree, while President has three which makes him more knowledgeable.
Gachagua was speaking during the launch of the National Police Service Leadership Academy in Ngong, Kajiado county. “Your Excellency ata masomo yangu ni kidogo, utanipatia ruhusa kazi ikipungua niongeze kidogo,” he said.
Loosely translated as, Your Excellency, I am a man with little education please allow me to further my studies once the workload in the office lessens. He said sometimes he feels challenged when they attend meetings.
“Kwa hile kazi nimepewa na rais, masomo yangu iko chini kidogo, unajua mimi niko na degree moja, my boss has three, si unaona hio kibarua ni kali. Tena one of my senior colleague ni professor, so pale kwa mikutano saa zingine ua ninachanganikiwa.”
He urged the police officers to also consider furthering their studies once they get a chance. The DP said the leadership Academy couldn’t have come at a better time, as it would impart useful leadership skills to police commanders to boost service delivery in the police service.
“President Ruto, please allow me some time, work allowing, to go back to school. Ile kazi umenipea, masomo yangu iko chini kidogo. You have 3 degrees & another senior colleague is a Professor meanwhile; I only have one degree. Sometimes in meetings, I get overwhelmed”– DP Rigathi
