Africa-Press – Kenya. The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced vacancies with jobs offering over Ksh85,000 salaries inclusive of multiple allowances.
NYS in a notice dated Friday, June 11, stated that it had 30 open vacancies in different sectors, from Economy, Health to Education.
All the jobs offered are on a three-year renewable contract based on performance. The deadline for sending in applications was indicated as not later than Friday, July 9.
1. Economist/Statistician – 2 Posts
Salary – Ksh38,720 to Ksh51,170 pm
Allowances
House – Ksh16,500 pm
Commuter – Ksh5,000 pm
Leave – Ksh6,000 pa
Duties & Qualifications
Providing economic planning data; economic analysis and formulation of development strategies
Upper Second-Class Honours degree in Economics, or Economics and Mathematics or Upper Second-Class Honors in Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Survey Techniques.
2. Senior Inspector (Mechanical – Motor Vehicle and Plant) – 3 posts
Salary – Ksh31,270 to Ksh41,260 pm
House – Ksh10,000 pm
Commuter – Ksh4,000 pm
Leave – Ksh4,000 pa
Duties & Qualifications
In charge of the repair of motor vehicle and plant machinery
Testing of vehicles and equipment before and after repair
Conducting proficiency test for drivers
Higher Diploma (Automotive) or other approved equivalent qualification.

3. Senior Inspector (Building) – 1 post
Salary – Ksh31,270 to Ksh41,260 pm
Allowances
House – Ksh10,000 pm

Clerk of work for building under construction
Assisting in the planning of supervision pf programs for a number of buildings
Higher Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering or its equivalent.

4. Senior Inspector (Roads) – 1 post
Salary – Ksh31,270 to Ksh41,260 pm
Allowances
House – Ksh10,000 pm
Commuter – Ksh6,000 pm

Supervision of all road construction and maintenance works
Preparation of work programs for all camps
Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering

5. Lecturer, Early Childhood Development Education – ECDE – 5 posts
Salary – Ksh31,270 to Ksh41,260 pm
House – Ksh10,000 pm

Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry
Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya
Valid practising license from Nursing Council of Kenya
Certificate in computer application
