Gor Mahia defender Paul Ochuoga has called on his teammates to maintain focus and intensity as the FKF Premier League title race enters a decisive phase, with the reigning champions preparing for a congested run of fixtures that could define their pursuit of a record-extending 22nd league crown.
The 21-year-old right-back, who has emerged as one of the club’s standout performers this season, says consistency and mentality will be crucial as K’Ogalo navigate a tight schedule that includes key matches against Tusker FC, Kakamega Homeboyz, Bandari FC and arch-rivals AFC Leopards.
Gor Mahia currently sit at the top of the table, but with AFC Leopards and Kakamega Homeboyz close behind, Ochuoga insists there is no room for complacency. “We are in a strong position, but that means nothing if we do not finish the job,” Ochuoga said.
The defender, who has contributed both defensively and offensively this season, stressed the importance of unity within the squad as the pressure intensifies. “Every player must understand the responsibility we carry as Gor Mahia. The title race is tight, and every match now feels like a final,” Ochuoga said.

“Of course, every player dreams of playing in Europe, but it must come at the right time and in the right way,” Ochuoga said. Ochuoga warned that Tusker’s experience and physical approach make them dangerous opponents in high-pressure encounters. “Tusker are always a tough side. They are organised, physical and very experienced in big matches,” Ochuoga said.
