Africa-Press – Kenya. Plans have been drawn up to stage a four-round Rallycross Championship in 2023.

Multiple Kenya and Safari rally champion Carl ‘Flash’ Tundo made the announcement at Machakos People’s Park where Day One of Rallycross-2 action took place.

“I hope next year we can get on the motorsport calendar with four-weekend events; sort of every quarter and then kind of grow it from there. I think generically people will love it,” he noted.

Tundo, who heads the newly constituted KMSF task force to improve rallying participation in the country added: “I am happy with the entries and I wish we could get more Two Wheel Drives and buggies to spice up the event. I love the idea of team racing in this competition and I feel there is a future in this.”

Rallycross-2 extravaganza is sponsored by Betika, Duma, JCB Ganantra, NCBA, Events Africa, Machakos Tourism and Aquamist among others.
