Africa-Press – Kenya. Kenya has recorded 13 new cases of Covid-19 from a sample size of 4,451 tested over the last 24 hours.

The death toll remained at 5,648 as no fatality was reported.

The positivity rate is now at 0.3 per cent.

In a statement, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said seven of the news cases are Kenyans and six are foreigners.

The youngest patient is an eight-year-old child while the oldest is aged 79.

The total number of confirmed positive cases is now at 323,436 out of 3,520,326 cumulative tests.

According to the statement, 17 patients recovered ,all of whom were under the Home-Based Care and Isolation Program.

The total recoveries now stand at 317,658 of whom 264,643 were under the Home-Based Care and Isolation while 53,015 were in health facilities countrywide.

The ministry said 12 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 118 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

No patient has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or High Dependency Unit (HDU).

Two patients are on supplemental oxygen in the general wards.

Vaccination status

As of March 31, a total of 17,645,128 vaccines had been administered across the country. Of these, 16,140,236 doses have been administered to the adult population.

A total of 1,224,175 doses have been administered to persons between the age of 15 and 17 years old.

Booster doses are at 280,717.

The total number of vaccines administered in the last 24 hours is 18,021 while the total number of people fully vaccinated in the last 24 hours is 12,912.

The proportion of adults fully vaccinated is now at 29.8 per cent.
