The programme supports young people through business start-up grants, skills training and structured mentorship.
Beneficiaries receive seed capital to start or grow small enterprises, alongside training in entrepreneurship and financial management.
They are also linked to savings schemes aimed at strengthening long-term financial stability.
The programme targets youth aged between 18 and 29 years, with the age limit extended to 35 years for persons living with disability.
Its focus is on driving grassroots economic transformation by supporting self-employment and enterprise development.
Backed by government funding and development partners, the Nyota Programme is part of Ruto’s broader strategy to address youth unemployment across the country.
The initiative seeks to reach up to 90,000 young people, offering structured apprenticeship and employment opportunities in various trades.
Through hands-on workplace exposure, it seeks to build practical skills and improve youth employability nationwide.
