Africa-Press – Kenya. President William Ruto is set to join congregants for prayers at Kahawa West, Roysambu Constituency.
The church service at will be held at Priesthood Fellowship in Kahawa West.
Last week, the President attended a church service in Bomet County.
The service was held in Sotik town.
Being a man with no off days, the Head of State in the midst of his busy diary always finds time to attend church services.
On Saturday, Ruto chaired a disaster response emergency meeting at State House Nairobi.
The meeting was attended by various government officials including cabinet secretaries, and representatives from security organs.
Among the Cabinet Secretaries present were Kithure Kindiki of the Interior Ministry, Aden Duale of Defence, and Susan Wafula of Health.
Council of Governor’s Chairperson Anne Waiguru and Chief of Defence Forces Fred Ogola were also present.
Ruto has also condoled with families that have lost their loved ones from the ongoing heavy rains as a result of El Nino.
Ruto on Friday on X said the government will act to secure Kenyans during the ongoing heavy rains.
“We condole with the families of the victims of the ongoing intense downpour and flooding in some parts of the country,” the President said.
“We are pained by the loss of lives in Kwale, Mombasa, Samburu and, lately, Makueni County among other places. The Government will act to secure Kenyans.”
The heavy rains have caused havoc people lose lives, and roads destroyed among other incidences.
