Africa-Press – Kenya. President William Ruto has assured Kenyans and particularly the Nyanza people that no region is going to be sidelined on development matters despite how they voted in 2022.
Ruto said elections were over and it was now time for all leaders to join hands in delivering promises to the citizens. “Mimi nataka kuwahakikishia nikiwahakikishia wakenya wote ya kwamba hakuna mkenya, hakuna jamii ama county itabaki nyuma, tutaenda sote pamoja.”
(Loosely translates to I want to assure you as I guarantee all Kenyans that no Kenyan, community, or county that will be neglected… we are all going to move forward together).
Ruto said he has agreed to work with all elected leaders to move the country forward together. “Nataka pia mjue kwamba tumekubaliana kufanya kazi na viongozi wenu na mimi niko tayari.”
(I want you to know that we have agreed with your leaders to work together and I am ready for that) Nyanza is ODM leader Raila Odinga’s support base.
During his visit on Friday, Ruto launched the construction of 5,000 houses under his affordable housing program. “Na nyinyi nilikuwa nimewawarn, niliwaambia mkiendelea kunibagua nitawashtaki kwa Mungu.”
(I had warned you if you continued discriminating against me, I would report you to God)
Ruto also asked the residents why they offered him only one per cent of votes yet his people had delivered upto 25 per cent for Raila Ruto is expected in Siaya on Saturday.
