Africa-Press – Kenya. Kenya Kwanza leaders have praised President William Ruto’s trip to China saying it will be a game changer in the country’s development after the head of state secured deals worth over Sh107 billion for projects.
They argue that once the projects are implemented, Kenya would not be the same again and Ruto would have achieved his vision to transform the country’s economy.
National Assembly Chief Whip Sylvanus Osoro led the praise for Ruto’s deals in China saying the President did not worsen the country’s debts as claimed by critics.
“The President secured public-private partnerships which will ensure the projects are implemented without putting the country into debts,” he said. Osoro was among more than 20 top allies of President Ruto including
three governors, MPs and senators who once again drummed up support for a second term for the head of state saying he has done a lot for the country since he took over.
They said Ruto was on course to prove his critics wrong because all the programmes he had initiated will to benefit Kenyans. They asked Kenyans to ignore naysayers and back Ruto to achieve his vision for the country and win a second term.
Governors Jonathan Bii of Uasin Gishu, Abdi Guys of Isiolo and Jeremiah Lomurukai of Turkana along with Osoro and Laikipia MP Mwangi Kiunjuri, outlined Ruto’s successes at three meetings they attended at Kapsaos in
Uasin Gishu, Likuyani in Kakamega and in Nandi county. Also present was Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet, Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Shollei and her Nandi counterpart Cynthia Muge.
Guyo said they stand behind Ruto because of his good performance including in counties in the North Eastern which are now benefiting from modern infrastructure.
He said politics in 2027 would be about those who want to unite the country led by Ruto verses those who are after divisions and tribalism. Farouk said Kenyans should focus on peace, unity and development and avoid those after spreading tribalism.
He said women and youth play a critical role in the success of society, hence why President Ruto’s government has prioritised their welfare and support programmes.
Lomurukai said Ruto would win a second term by a landslide because of his good work and the unity he has cultivated among Kenyans. Governor Bii said Ruto’s visit to China would be an economic game
changer for the country. “If you look at the benefits of such a trip by the President it’s immense in key sectors especially infrastructure, and for sure, the
President means well for this country,” Bii said. Osoro spoke at length on those who always oppose and criticise Ruto’s work noting that their actions are based on malice and jealousy.
Nominated MP Joseph Wainaina and Kiunjuri said tribalism had no place in the country and that Ruto had worked hard to unite the country through the broad-based government.
“We should thank the President for uniting all Kenyans in the government,” said Wainaina who spoke at Kapsaos where the leaders raised over Sh11 million to help women groups.
Other MPs present included Benard Shinali (Ikolomami), Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo), Innocent Mugabe ( Likuyani), Shollei, Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama, Vihiga Women Rep Beatrice Adagala and a host of MCAs and
businessmen. Kiunjuri said Ruto was recently well received in Mt Kenya an indication that he enjoys support in the region. He said the President had worked hard to ensure the economy is stable.
