Africa-Press – Kenya. Several families in Kawangware, Nairobi County, are staring at spending nights in the cold after fire incident broke out in the Msalaba area. The fire broke out Sunday afternoon and spread across several areas.
Properties of unknown value were consumed by the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be a gas cylinder explosion. At least 20 shanties have been burnt down.
Nairobi county firefighters are at the scene trying to control the fire. Prior to the arrival of the firefighters, residents tried to control it using local means but all was in vain. No casualties reported so far.
