Africa-Press – Kenya. Embakasi East Babu Owino on Saturday received a warm welcome from the crowd as he arrived at Former Education CS George Magoha’s burial in Yala. As Babu made his entrance to take his seat, the mourners cheered him up , distracting the programme.
Former Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphel Tuju who was the Emcee had to speak to acknowledge Babu Owino’s arrival. As the crowd continued to cheer, Tuju asked Babu to tell people the secret behind his popularity.
“Let me acknowledge the arrival of Babu Owino.. and Babu teach us your ways on how to be popular,” as he laughed.
Babu Owino is among the high profiled leaders who are attending the burial of Magoha. Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta had arrived earlier at the burial ceremony.
Thousands of mourners have turned up to give their final respect to Magoha. Also in attendance are former Cabinet Secretaries including Farida Karoney, Rachel Omamo as well as Siaya Governor James Orengo and Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo.
Magoha’s body arrived in Siaya on Friday aboard a Kenya Airforce helicopter ahead of his burial. Some of those expected to give their tributes include representatives from Maseno University, academicians and the Siaya County Government.
