Africa-Press – Kenya. Deputy President William Ruto has said that times have been challenging and he acknowledges that the past year has not been easy for everyone.
In a statement on Friday, the second in command said that Kenyans have worked to overcome the challenges of 2021 through adaptation, creativity and sheer refusal to give up and this resilience has seen us through it all.
” I am sure that everyone feels they have given their all, and it seems not to be enough. In our different ways, each one of us struggles to overcome difficulties,”Ruto said.
He noted that he feels most Kenyans, just like he has, have faced a lot of challenges and gone through a lot of setbacks and tough times throughout the year.
But admirably they’ve continued to soldier on not letting the challenges faced put them down and have continuously given their very best, even when they didn’t know whether it’d be enough or things would change.
“We have had close shaves and near misses, endured daunting setbacks and been actively undermined by our adversaries. But here we are, still doing our best, often not knowing how it would turn out until the last minute.” Ruto tweeted.
He also added that he felt millions of Kenyans would not only do far better in different areas of life given a more friendly environment to work in but they’d also use their creativity and talents better.
“At the bottom, where survival is a daily triumph, there are abundant lessons learnt, dreams that refuse to die, hope that flows abundantly.” The tweet read.
He encouraged Kenyans to never lose their faith that the promise is alive, and to continue pressing on in their bid for better lives.
In his tweet, Ruto reminded citizens that they can claim their portion of divine abundance in their daily lives. He emphasized on the importance of working hard, focusing on one’s dreams and the resilience to turn those dreams to reality.
He finished off by wishing all Kenyans a happy new year.
“We must never stop rising up early and working hard all day, every day until we turn hope into reality and make our dreams come true. Happy 2022 to all Kenyans.”
