Africa-Press – Kenya. Ugandan Tycoon David Matsanga has vowed to sponsor a candidate to vie against Nominated Member of Parliament David Sankok in the 2022 General Election.

While appearing alongside Sankok on a TV show on Thursday, January 6, Matsanga dared the ally of Deputy President William Ruto to seek an elective seat in the August polls insisting that Sankok was not popular.

“I will field somebody if you want to stand as an MP. I will field somebody to see whether you can win a slot from a direct election,” Matsanga stated.

The ardent supporter of President Uhuru Kenyatta further promised to give Sankok Ksh500,000 in the event he beats his candidate and clinches the seat.

“I promise I will give you another Ksh500,000 if you win. Today I give you a challenge. I want you to buy more cows, maybe two or three,” he dared.

However, the nominated MP interrupted the tycoon stating that he was not interested in the money, adding that he was earning a salary.

During the interview, the Ugandan tycoon also divulged that the two shared history revealing that they were together at the International Criminal Court (ICC) during the hearing of the cases against Uhuru and Ruto in Netherlands.

He revealed that he contributed money to get Sankok released from a police cell after he was apprehended in the Netherlands.

“My son, remember my contiribution in the cell in Hague. We came out of the police station. I am happy as we were not charged with anything in Europe,” he stated.

Additionally, Matsanga criticised the Nominated MP for joining the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) stating that it would be difficult for the party to take over the reigns of power from President Kenyatta.

‘Sankok and his group are opposed to the system. The legacy of Uhuru is very clear and they cannot leave this country to the hands of people have been siphoning the same money and recycling it back inform of hand outs,” he stated.

Matsanga has previously been at the center of controversy in Kenya after he made statements that ridiculed Kenyans in February 2016.

The Ugandan tycoon is the CEO at the Africa World Media and has written various articles in some publication outlets in the country.
