Africa-Press – Kenya. Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday mourned veteran broadcaster Catherine Kasavuli. The Fourth President described the late journalist as a committed journalist who played a key role in the growth of the country’s media industry.

“As an individual I will forever cherish her noble contribution in making the media industry one of the most dynamic and transformative sector of our economy,” Uhuru said.

The former Head of State prayed to God to give the family of Kasavuli the strength and fortitude to bear the loss. The TV anchored who ruled TV screens died on Friday after a long battle with cancer.

Opposition Chief Raila Odinga said Kasavuli illuminated “our screens as a trailblazer.” “Following the loss of legendary broadcast journalist Catherine Kasavuli, Mama Ida and I extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues,” Raila said.

“She illuminated our screens as a trailblazer and many women joined the profession due to her captivating presence. May God Almighty Rest Her Soul in Peace.”
