Africa-Press – Kenya. Ulinzi ripped Desert Scorpions 47-12 in a Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) league match at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.

The soldiers, who made it two wins in two days, leapfrogged Black Mamba to the second spot with 20 points from 10 games. They had 13 goals from dangerman Kevin Immo and 10 from Nicholas Ireri.

Ulinzi whipped Rangers 37-24 the previous day while Rangers fell 37-25 to Kenyatta University who had 9 goals from Phelix Ongoro.

However, they recovered and defeated the Spartans 24-14 as Abel Komen notched six goals. General Service Unit (GSU) were all over Desert Scorpions, hitting them 39-22. Christopher Magondi buried 11 goals.

In the women’s matches, National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) had nine goals from Sheryl Atieno and seven each from Sarah Mabonga and Purity Nyawira as they clobbered Kenyatta University 39-18.

Champions Nairobi Water Queens blanked Kenyatta University 41-13. Queens led 23-7 at the break as internationals Gladys Chilo and Brenda Ariviza continue tormenting teams—scoring eight and seven goals respectively.

Rangers dismissed Desert Scorpions 33-24 with Edwin Wasilwa scoring nine and Abel Kimeli eight for the winners. Thika-based Spartans crushed 37-26 to Kenyatta University after trailing 20-12 at halftime.

Coach Eugene Luvai, whose charges had four games on the card over the weekend, said they will be equal to the task.
