Africa-Press – Kenya. Vihiga Queens maintained their perfect run in the Kenya Women’s Premier League with a resounding 3-0 win over struggling Kayole Starlets at the Mumias Sports Complex on Saturday.
Anita Namata opened scoring in the 24th minute to give the legacy makers a deserved lead. Substitute Maureen Ater, who was introduced at the start of second half, made it 2-0 with a superb finish in the 68th minute.
Providence Khasiala sealed the victory in the 80th minute. The dynamic midfielder has now scored in two consecutive matches and is quickly becoming a mainstay in the team after she was signed in the mid-season transfer window.
Elsewhere, Gaspo Women made light work of Kangemi Ladies with a commanding 6-1 win over the minnows at the Gems Cambridge. Diana Wachera and Ann Arusi both scored a brace while Lydiah Akoth and Nuru Hadima also found the back of the net for Gaspo.
In other matches, Trans Nzoia Falcons lost 3-2 against Ulinzi Starlets at the Kenyatta Stadium, Kitale. Nakuru City Queens annihilated Kisumu All Starlets 3-0 as the race for the top four gathers momentum.
