AfricaPress-Kenya: Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has appealed to the government to give free masks to Kenyans who may not afford the vital protective device.
He also called on counties to consider waivers on water bills until Covid-19 is defeated.Kalonzo further called on the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), Kenya Power (KP) and Treasury to institute measures to reduce the cost of electricity for Kenyans.
“With the ongoing stay-at-home measures, coupled with the 7 pm to 5 am curfew, domestic consumption of electricity is at its peak now than ever before. EPRA and KP should institute measures to reduce the cost of power,” said Kalonzo.
He said petrol and diesel are much needed in the transportation of farm produce and other goods from one part of the country to another, while kerosene is the choice fuel for the majority of Kenyans, particularly those in informal settlements.Kalonzo urged Kenyans to be ever vigilant and to continue observing the laid-down rules of fighting the pandemic.
