AfricaPress-Kenya: Bandari defender Swaleh Chacha, who has rejoined the team after loan spells at Sony Sugar and Mathare United says he is happy to be back home.

Chacha passed through Bandari Youth side before he was promoted to the senior team in 2018, but loaned out.

“I am delighted to be back at the dockyard. Bandari is my home and I am happy that I am back home. It’s been a long and successful journey from the youth team to the senior team. I am happy also that the team trusts me to deliver and I promise to give my all for the team,” said Chacha in an interview.

The other players to have returned to Bandari are Dennis Magige and Hassan Idd.

Coach Ken Odhiambo believes the return of the trio is a major boost to the team as they prepare for the resumption of football activities that were suspended in March due to covid-19 outbreak.

Team’s Technical Director Twahir Muhiddin, who is also the assistant coach of Harambee Stars predicts a tough 2020/21 Kenyan Premier League season.

He said since the cancellation of premier league in March, players have been inactive and it might time before the players are physically fit for the competition.

Meanwhile, Mombasa County pre-season football tournament started with MICD hitting Eleven Stars 5-3 while Burnley clobbered Cosmos 3-0 in another match.
