Africa-Press – Lesotho. The 29 year old International Author, Bothata Kennedy Silase, who is also an active member of the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) will announce the Second Edition of his well-known

publication ‘THE RECOIL’ which will be released this week. ‘THE RECOIL’ was published in 2019 and its powerful suspense birthed the Second Edition. It attracted the market in Kenya,

Uganda, Europe and Canada. According to the Author, ‘THE RECOIL’ left readers fervent of what to expect next in the story and therefore inspired ‘THE RECOIL

2’. Silase indicated that the book shares the story of Masilo Mokoena who has forgotten about malicious deeds that

he had coordinated with during his days at the National University of Lesotho (NUL), his life was inclining towards a different path and there was no incident which

ever went unpunished because his previous crimes resurfaced and impacted significantly on his life. Again in the story there was a raid which was conducted

by the Lesotho Mounted Police Service at one of Lesotho’s renowned clubs which coursed trouble, there were diabolical machinations from his past life which placed

his destiny at stake. With the upcoming edition, Silase said the readers are to expect just more of Mokoena’s struggles with his past. “In this book the shenanigans of his former boss were ahead of authorities, passing way

of the state witness on the road to the High Court of Lesotho gave the trial judge a feeling to dismiss criminal case. Again Stock taking was conducted at

Nigerian Armed Forces which made him to recall his crimes and the damage they caused to his job as an officer of Lesotho Defence Force and his marriage,” he

explained. Silase pointed-out that he began writing in 2019 and he is currently an international speaker who works under a close supervision of the Literacy Agent, Thomas

Michael Kieibasinski from the United States of America. He explained that he follows the trends of legends like R. K Rowling and Professor Patrick Loch Otieno

Lumumba who inspires him to focus more on writing as a career not a hobby. He said he has a contract with Makhetha Motšoari and he will be broadcasting his

biography by the end of this week, which will serve as prove that he has taken writing as his occupation too. “I ventured into writing because I wanted to leave a legacy which will exist even when I depart

as it has come to my recognition that when people with degrees die we only talk about them for a short time, but when someone has left something historic, even

after years, the coming generations will be taught about him due to the bequest he has left, “he revealed. In his recap during the interview with Informative

Arts&Lifestyle, Silase said as authors they encounter many challenges when it comes to publishing companies in the country and that makes it difficult for

authors to release their publications within a short time. He said also the education system in the country does not assist in encouraging passion for writing.

He added that there should be clear laws which protect the artistic works so that readers do not use their books without their permission or claim them to be theirs.
