Africa-Press – Lesotho. The National Emergency Command Centre (NECC) has received donations of coronavirus Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from the Limkokwing University of Creative

Technology (LUCT), in collaboration with Letshego Financial Services on Thursday. LUCT presented a total of 10 000 surgical masks worth M180, 000 including Covid-19 awareness

videos currently in broadcast on national television. The donation is earmarked to support front line workers who are currently serving the nation during the outbreak.

LUCT Registrar Moroka Hoohlo noted that the initiative part of the LUCT founder and President Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka Limkokwing is aligned with ‘Heal the

World’ global campaign that strives to ensure that the world becomes a safer place for all, including the front line workers who have dedicated their lives to saving the lives of others.

The campaign is aimed to ensure the safety of the world. Dr Limkokwing is fully committed to supporting the government of Lesotho in the fight to end the

pandemic. Letshego Financial Services Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abia Moabi said they found it very important to contribute in the fight against the virus.

Letshego Financial Services donated 680 masks and 400 litres of hand sanitizers worth M100, 000. Ministry of Health (MoH) Deputy Principal Secretary (DPS) Adv.

Lesimole Moletsane thanked the two institutions and mentioned that the only way Lesotho can defeat this pandemic is by joining forces with all stakeholders.

She further added that the PPEs will be distributed to the districts as soon as possible. “These equipment will go a long way in assisting more than 270 health centres countrywide,” she

said. NECC Chairperson Chief Thesele Maseribane said Basotho have to join forces to fight the Covid-19 pandemic now more than everas it has been mentioned that the virus

spread faster in winter. He said Lesotho is landlocked by South Africa (SA) which its numbers on Covid-19 rises on a daily basis therefore advised Basotho

to use official borders when entering the country and not porous point of entries. He pointed out that Lesotho has so far tested 2000 people and among them only 4 tested positive and 2 have recovered.
