Africa-Press – Lesotho. The police in the Western Cape launched a 72-hour activation plan to track down the suspects behind a mass murder in Riverview, Citrusdal. Three men believed to be from Lesotho were shot and killed in the early hours of Saturday, 16 July.
South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Colonel Andre Traut said the three victims were shot and killed in their informal dwelling in Riverview, Citrusdal.
A fourth suspect reportedly sustained a gunshot wound but he managed to escape from the unknown assailants. “This victim is yet to be traced. The suspect or suspects fled the scene and are yet to be apprehended,” said Traut.
The motive for the murder of the three men is yet to be established. Members of the public with information that can help the police’s investigation are encouraged to contact Crime Stop at 08600-10111 or use the My SAPS app.

In an unrelated incident, four men were shot and killed in another Western Cape town, Tulbagh, on 25 June. A known drug dealer, according to the police, was arrested for the crime.
Makubulelwa Dada faces four counts of premeditated murder, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition and being in the country illegally before the Tulbagh Magistrate’s Court.
