STREET VENDORS HAVE UNTIL FRIDAY

Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Office of District Administrator has given Street vendors/hawkers until Friday, to remove their goods in parking lots which they are reported to have occupied illegally.

This has been confirmed by the District Administrator Ms. Moleboheng Lebele in an interview with the Agency, by noting that police officers and the Urban Council will be ready to see that hawkers indeed vacate those positions, following a written letter from her office regarding the issue.

Another letter dated May, 2023 was from the Town Clerk Mr. Kekeletso Matlosa, also informing the latters to evacuate those places, noting their goods have occupied a significant portion of the parking lots, therefore causing inconvenience to users, and the letter had given vendors 7 days to remove their goods.

This follows a written complaint to the Urban Council by concerned citizens complaining about not having space to park their vehicles around town when running errands, also expressing concerns about businessmen who have taken their goods outside of the shops, and illegally displayed them at the parking lots.
