Africa-Press – Lesotho. Prime Minister Ntsokoane Matekane has extended warm Easter greetings to the Basotho nation, encouraging citizens to embrace the spirit of the season with love, unity, and responsibility.
In his message, the Prime Minister emphasized that Easter is a sacred time of reflection, honoring the death and, most importantly, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. “It is in His resurrection that Christians find their greatest victory,” he said.
Mr. Matekane reminded the nation that the foundations of Christianity are built on love, respect, and peaceful coexistence, values also deeply rooted in the legacy of the founder of the Basotho nation, who cherished harmony above all.
He issued a firm warning against criminal behaviour during the holiday period, stating that law enforcement agencies will be on high alert to ensure public safety. The Prime Minister specifically condemned acts of gender-based violence and other forms of crime, calling on those involved to cease their actions immediately.
