Africa-Press – Lesotho. Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) will be in order, says the Prime Minister (PM), Mr. Samuel Ntsokoane in his keynote speech at Mokema in Maseru during rural electrification project handover on Friday.
When addressing Mokema community, the PM said when his government assumed power, LEC was running a loss, requesting assistance from the government every month despite its selling electricity to consumers.
This, he said, raised a concern that led to its investigation. He added that this will come to a gentle stop, and the power utility will get back in order.
Mr. Matekane acknowledged the consequences of the mismanagement within the LEC which he said has been going on for years, and pointed out that the problems within the company are likely to be infectious, causing more problems to the whole country.
