Africa-Press – Lesotho. Real Madrid has officially opened the door to selling Vinicius Junior after contract extension talks with the Brazilian stalled. Despite a stellar run since joining the club in 2018, the 25-year-old winger now finds himself at the center of a standoff with the Madrid board over salary demands.
Vinicius has enjoyed massive success with the Spanish giants, scoring 106 goals and assisting 83 times in 322 games, and winning multiple trophies including two Champions League titles.
However, after requesting a salary on par with Kylian Mbappé’s €23 million net per year—€8 million more than his current deal—negotiations reached an impasse. Real Madrid, reportedly unimpressed with his timing and form fluctuations, has decided not to meet his demands.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the club is now open to letting him leave if a strong offer arrives, despite his €1 billion release clause. Saudi side Al-Hilal has long admired the Brazilian, and this latest development could reignite their interest. A summer exit now seems a real possibility.
