Africa-Press – Lesotho. The controversy surrounding the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations continues to grow, and Samuel Eto’o has now joined the wave of criticism against Confederation of African Football. The decision to strip Senegal of its title and award it to Morocco has sparked outrage across the continent.
According to reports, the president of FECAFOOT sent strong messages to fellow federation leaders, openly questioning the credibility of African football’s governing body.
“How can we restore the confidence of African fans in CAF? How can we reaffirm our legitimacy without weakening our institution?” he asked, reflecting deep concern within African football authorities.
These remarks highlight the growing crisis of trust surrounding CAF’s governance. As reactions continue to pour in, this affair risks leaving a lasting stain on African football’s image, while increasing pressure on CAF to justify and possibly reconsider one of the most controversial decisions in recent AFCON history.
