Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Minister Spokes Foundation, in collaboration with Lehae Funeral Services, Maluti Mountain Cement, Lesotho Post Bank and other partners has on Tuesday donated clothes and food parcels to orphans and the elderly in Ha-Tšiu.
The donation aims at supporting vulnerable communities and improve their well-being.
Speaking at the event in Maseru, Mr. Poloko Calvin Mohlapiso popularly known as Minister Spokes said the initiative would not have been possible without the support of partners, expressing deep gratitude to all stakeholders involved, including Jam Sessions and others.
He indicated that the donation programme began in 2024 and has since expanded beyond Maseru to reach other districts across the country.
Minister Spokes further urged members of the public to contribute whatever they can, regardless of how little, noting that such gestures can make a meaningful difference in the lives of beneficiaries on a daily basis.
Mr. Makoa Semethe of Maluti Mountain Cement commended Minister Spokes for mobilising support from various companies, stating that it takes strong leadership to seek assistance for initiatives that require funding to succeed.
He added that the collaboration demonstrates that unity is power, emphasising that giving back to the community remains a key motivation for participating companies.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mohapi Tšiu, speaking on behalf of community leader Mr. Mokonyane Tšiu, expressed appreciation to the donors for their contributions, while encouraging them to extend similar support to other communities beyond Ha-Tšiu.
