According to the Lesotho Bakery statement, the price of bread will increase by M1 per unit.
The statement notes that the adjustment is necessitated by continued increases in input costs particularly fuel and packaging.
It indicates that despite their efforts to absorb these rising costs and maintain their current pricing for as long as possible, the situation has made it unsustainable to continue without adjustment.
Moreover, the Lesotho Bakery expressed commitment to continue providing high quality products and reliable service at all times.
Meanwhile, to offset the rising cost of living, the Government has expanded the list of zero-rated (tax-free) essential goods including bread, cooking oil (sunflower oil), fresh vegetables and fresh fruits.
