Africa-Press – Lesotho. Newly-promoted Richards Bay FC are in talks with Lesotho international striker Katleho Makateng, who netted 20 goals in the country’s Premier League last season.
The 23-year-old was in fine form for Lesotho Defence Force during last season and he looks set to make a move to the DStv Premiership, with Richards Bay understood to currently be in talks with the player and his camp over the possibility of sealing a deal.

Makateng was named Player of the Season as well as Player’s Player of the Season in Lesotho. In addition, he was named the Young Player of the Season.

During the recently completed COSAFA Cup, Makateng scored one goal, in a 2-1 victory over Malawi. This has not gone unnoticed, with Richards Bay now officially expressing an interest in having him on board. The Siya crew has been informed that the club is trying to get the deal over the line as soon as possible.
The KZN outfit have been busy in the market since winning automatic promotion, bringing in the likes of Abel Mabaso, Nkanyiso Zungu, Michael Gumede, Yanela Mbuthuma, Matome Mabeda, Thulani Gumede, Sibusiso Mthethwa, Sanele Barns, Siyanda Dlamini, Ndiviwe Mdabuka, Neil Boshoff and Ugandan international Omar Salim Magoola. The club is set to take part in the Mangosuthu Legacy Cup this season.
