Lesotho airing their disapproval over the Lesotho’s government request to have Diplomatic Passport holders go for medical attention in South Africa. Ina televise statement last week Friday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations Hon.
Lesego Makgothi, said they are looking forward to engage South Africa to afford special dispensation to Diplomatic Passports holders to access medical care during the ongoing lockdown borne by the prevailing COVID-19 outbreak. The letter reads in pertinent part, “The…(AFDeL) find the requests by the Lesotho to be an unacceptable public offence on the following grounds: The AFDeL further said that the request to have borders opened for certain people is an “injustice” as some Basotho find themselves in a compromised situation as a result of strict movement between two countries. In advocating for fair access to SA advanced medical facilities,
the letter says the opportunity should be enjoyed by all people who have a financial muscle to foot those medical bills “or be denied completely as per lockdown regulations. ”
