Africa-Press – Lesotho. The High Court has on Monday heard that Kamo Phakoe, one of the accused charged with the murder of renowned radio personality Ralikonelo Joki who was known as ‘Leqhashasha’, voluntarily came to Lesotho from South Africa after it came to his attention that he was wanted.
In his evidence as the third defence witness, Phakoe stated that on June 20 2023 he was informed by some of the people in South Africa where he stayed that there was a communication on the social media that he was a wanted person. He indicated that he met some of his co-accused Mothusi Tlelase, Sootho Liphoto and Moabi Sesioana together with two other men ( Mentla and Molefi) who told him that they were going to Lesotho.
He testified that when they got to the border post and after they crossed, the four of them were arrested excluding the two others who were in their company. He said they were taken to a place unknown to him and locked. He stated that they were taken to Pitso Ground Police Station in the morning where they were respectively tortured and interrogated about the death of Joki.
