Africa-Press – Lesotho. Magistrate Puseletso McPherson has on Tuesday remanded Motlatsi Pebane (41) to November 11, 2025 as the accused is already coming to court for another case.
Pebane is charged with contravening the provisions of section 3(1) and (2) (a)(b) read with 43(sic) of Internal security ( Arms and Ammunitions) Act No 17 of 1966 as amended by Act no 4 of 1999.
As per the charge sheet, the said accused on August 28 2025, at Masianokeng Ha Mapetla in the district of Maseru unlawfully and intentionally had Firearms of 38 special serial loaded with 60 rounds of ammunition and uzzi Sanna 77 9mm serial no. 78k00148 loaded with 23 rounds of ammunition and the said accused does not possess firearms’ licences.
After the charge was read to him and explained to the accused, an application for release on bail was made on behalf of the accused. Council for the accused emphasized personal circumstances that justify his release on bail.
She indicated that the accused is not the flight risk and is a citizen of Lesotho. She mentioned that the accused is disabled and requires assistance with virtually all daily activities.
