AFCON 2021: Fixtures, venues, full schedule and kick-off times for 2022 tournament

Africa-Press – Lesotho. AFCON 2021 continues on Monday January 10 when Senegal take on Zimbabwe, Guinea face Malawi, Morocco entertain Ghana, and Gabon face minnows Comoros; all 52 games throughout the competition will be shown live across Sky Sports; tournament concludes with the final on Sunday February 6
The tournament, originally scheduled to be played in June and July 2021, will be played in Cameroon between January 9 and February 6, 2022, with Sky Sports showing all 52 games live.

Twenty-four teams will take part, kicking off on January 9 as hosts Cameroon host Burkina Faso in Yaounde, before culminating in the final on February 6 in the capital.
The Africa Cup of Nations begins in earnest on Monday, with four fixtures taking place in Group B and Group C, all of which are exclusively live on Sky Sports, following Sunday’s Group A openers.

Much of the focus will fall on Senegal, one of the favourites to win the tournament, as they take on Zimbabwe in the first game of the day. The Lions of Teranga are out for their first AFCON crown having finished runners-up in Egypt in 2019.

Guinea take on Malawi in the other Group B fixture, while there is also the prospect of an exciting Group C meeting between Morocco and Ghana, who are looking to win the competition for the first time since 1976 and 1982 respectively.
The Ghana side is likely to feature Arsenal’s Thomas Partey and the Ayew brothers, Jordan and Andre, who play for Crystal Palace and Al-Sadd respectively, while Morocco will look to Youssef En-Nesyri, the Sevilla forward, for inspiration.

In the final game of the day, minnows Comoros face Gabon, who could be without captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after he too tested positive for Covid-19.
