Africa-Press – Lesotho. CAF has opened an investigation into Algeria’s women’s national team over possible breaches of its regulations during the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The confederation confirmed the move in an official statement, citing “alleged violations” and promising no further comment until proceedings conclude.

The controversy centers on Algeria’s apparent efforts to censor Moroccan identity during the tournament. The Algerian federation used a modified WAFCON logo omitting the word “Morocco” in its communications, and national TV reportedly blurred sponsor names such as “Royal Air Maroc.”

Additional images showed black tape covering Moroccan federation logos on the team benches. Despite the political tensions, Algeria remains undefeated on the pitch, with a win over Botswana and a draw with Tunisia. The team now faces group leaders Nigeria on Sunday in Casablanca.
