Africa-Press – Lesotho. Those who don’t heed when Muckraker speaks will pretend to be shocked when her words come to pass. When she called Mahalitere Lesotho’s most overrated politician a few moons ago, some people called for a lynch mob.
They wanted to avenge the dishonour poured on their beloved politician. Now that she has been vindicated they are feigning shock. In just a few days Mahalitere has lost a third of his MPs to the Revolution for Prosperity (RFP).
By the time elections come the AD will be a political hovel bereft of tenants. Only desperate MPs will be milling in its yard. Its supporters will be so few that they will not be able to fill a wheelbarrow.
There is no way the AD can keep its supporters if it cannot hold on to those in its leadership. Who are they to stick around a party unwanted by its leaders?
Mahalitere is now claiming that the party is stronger than before. He believes his own propaganda. He has concocted his own lies and will defend them with vim.
Some AD zealots are insulting those who have left the party as sellouts and opportunists. That is rich coming from a party formed by the cream de la crème of Lesotho’s political opportunists.
They want us to believe the pathetic fib that they left the DC because of principle. Nyoe, nyoe, nyoe it was because of the government fleet management contract scandal.
Blah, blah, blah the DC was corrupt. It was because they had been kicked away from the stolen cake. They wanted to bake their own. Only that they lacked the gravitas to bake their own.
So they jumped into bed with the All Basotho Confusion to form the most inept coalition government in the world. They ate the cake while Basotho watched from a distance.
They have nothing to show for their time in government. Just potholes and that unfinished hideous thing at Lepereng. They said it was going to be a sports centre but we know it was a way to munch the government money.
Stopped in their tracks, they became bitter and even accused those questioning the projects of being saboteurs of progress. Muckraker suspects only pride is stopping Mahalitere from joining Matekane as a general member.
He has already waxed lyrical about Matekane’s party. He must just take the plunge like Limpho Tau of that other silly excuse of a political party. And let’s now hear anyone saying the AD has seats. It has one, which Mahalitere won in his home area. The rest are just donations that fell on its lap.
