Africa-Press – Lesotho. Alliance Insurance have launched a new kit for two Vodacom Premier League giants, Matlama, and Linare, to use this season. The new kit was unveiled yesterday at Lancers Inn where it was modelled by players from both teams.
Matlama’s kit, including football boots, is said to have cost M300 000 while Linare’s kit is said to have cost closer to M200 000. Apart from Matlama and Linare, Alliance also sponsors two other Vodacom Premier League teams in the Lesotho Correctional Services (LCS) and Lioli both have already received their kits for this season.
Matlama’s home kit is predominantly blue with white accents and a large portrait of King Moshoeshoe I, and it is worn with blue shorts and socks. The white away shirt has blue vertical stripes and is worn with sky blue shorts and socks.
The goalkeeper’s kit is a combination of navy blue and sky blue, creating a successful monochromatic colour scheme. The kit coordinates with the navy-blue tracksuits worn by the players upon their arrival on match-days.
Linare’s home kit, like Matlama’s, is predominantly green and white, with green shorts and socks. The away jersey is white with vertical green stripes and white shorts.
The goalkeeper’s kit is similar to Matlama’s. They also have leisure wear black tracksuits that match the green shirt and top. Both clubs have replicas available for supporters.
Alliance’s Manager Public Relations and Corporate Communications, Limakatso Mokobocho, said that Alliance has vowed to improve the standard of football in the country and has never wavered from that commitment.
“We thank the cooperation between us and the clubs, I want to assure you that we are working well.
We are satisfied and I wish we can continue. We have four teams: Matlama, Linare, Lioli and LCS. You can imagine the load that’s on Alliance,” she said.
“We vowed to improve football in Lesotho, even though we come from a difficult time because of Covid-19, we continue to commit ourselves to helping football.
We want to see success, we want to see you in the Top 3 at the end of the season,” Mokobocho continued. Speaking on behalf of the club, Matlama’s president Paballo Makakole urged Basotho to continue taking policies with Alliance.
“We are happy with the new kit, it’s been a long journey since 2006 with the company and we have had successes, I don’t know about you Linare. We have no words except that as a nation we should take up policies with the company and good luck to both teams this afternoon,” he said. Makokole’s words were echoed by Linare’s vice-president who promised they will also enjoy the successes in this relationship with Alliance Insurance.
